2024 Classifications

 

 

Colorguard

 

Cadet Class (GC) — Intermediate school students (6th grade and under); adjudicated on WGI Local A Sheets. Due to timing and penalties, it is not recommended that these groups compete on the WGI level.

 

Prep Class (GP) — Middle or junior high school students (8th grade and under); not necessarily school-affiliated; adjudicated on WGI Local A Sheets. Due to timing and penalties, it is not recommended that these groups compete on the WGI level.

 

Scholastic Regional A2 or A (GSRA2 or GSRA) Beginning programs that demonstrate fundamental, rudimentary, or simple skill levels. Please refer to the WGI Color Guard Adjudication Manual. Units may compete at WGI events in the Scholastic Regional A class.

 

Scholastic A2 or A (GSA2 or GSA) — Units whose program includes a basic level of equipment and movement skills, with units moving toward exploring Scholastic A on the national level; adjudicated on WGI A class sheets. Please refer to the WGI Color Guard Adjudication Manual. Units may compete at WGI events in the Scholastic A Class.

 

Scholastic Open (GSO) — Please refer to the WGI Color Guard Adjudication Manual.

 

Scholastic World (GSW)— Please refer to the WGI Color Guard Adjudication Manual.

 

Independent Regional A (GIRA) — Units whose program includes an introductory/beginning level of equipment and body handling; adjudicated on WGI Regional A sheets. 

Independent A-2 (GIA2) — Units whose program includes a basic level of equipment and movement skills, with units moving toward exploring Independent A on the national level; adjudicated on WGI A class sheets.

Independent Open (GIO) — Please refer to the WGI Color Guard Adjudication Manual.

 

Independent World (GIW) — Please refer to the WGI Color Guard Adjudication Manual.

Percussion

 

Percussion Prep — ensembles are middle or junior high school students (8th grade and younger). 

 

Percussion Scholastic Regional A (PSRA)  ensembles are programs for novice-level skills but do not compete at the national level.
